Merry Christmas In French

Anyone that get’s insulted because “Sleep Country” did not translate their sign needs help.  The company name is “Sleep Country”!  I don’t care if you live in Prince Rupert, Whitehorse, Iqaluit, Goose Bay, Quebec City or Ottawa.  If you don’t understand what “Sleep Country” is, you need an education!!!

This language law has gone too far.  CANADA has an Official Languages Policy.  Quebec doesn’t need to step it up a notch!!!  This is all the result of the Separatist movement.  Perreault and all the other Separatists need to get a life!!!  This is Canada.  In Canada there are two official languages ENGLISH and FRENCH.  You need to accept the fact that you have not separated from OUR COUNTRY.  Therefore play nice with your friends and neighbours OR GET THE HECK OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!!!!

If you want to live somewhere else, where only the French language is spoken, be our guest.  There are some nations that can accommodate you.  Just be forewarned, they may not welcome you with open arms!!!  You will be the minority.  Oh and by the way, when you leave Canada, you give up your Canadian citizenship.  You obviously don’t want to be Canadian.

Perhaps once you leave, you will realize how good you had it here.  If you ever decide you want to return, you will have to make an application like all other immigrants.  After all, you are no longer Canadian.

I live in Gatineau and I speak both official languages.  I can choose to be served in either language when I go shopping.  For the most part, I’ve never had any problems.  Clerks are quite friendly and are more than willing to serve me in either language.  I have friends that visit every summer from the United States and they have nothing but kind things to say about the service they receive from the stores in the Gatineau area.

When I travel to Quebec City or any area north of Montreal, I purposely will speak English.  They need to be taught manners up there.  If I don’t like the way I’m treated, I tell them so IN FRENCH and leave the premises.  I will only sleep, shop or eat where people have manners!  All of you should do the same.  You’d be surprised how much power the mighty dollar has, ESPECIALLY THESE DAYS.  Quebec is a beautiful province.  We have so much to offer.  It’s too bad that the separatists are turning tourists away with their snotty attitude.

We, the well-mannered and friendly part of the French population in Quebec, need to show our pride in Quebec and in Canada.
